ECONOMYNEXT – India has peaceful an export ban allowing for 10,000 metric tonnes of onions to be shipped to Sri Lanka, the Indian High Commission in Colombo claimed.
“The exemption for Sri Lanka reiterated India’s Neighbourhood 1st plan, introducing to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivities right here,” the assertion said.
Onion charges went up in Sri Lanka right after India and Pakistan banned exports.
The Directorate Standard of International Trade has issued a notice letting National Co-operative Exports Restricted to ship 10,000 MT of onions.
The UAE has also been permitted to import 10,000MT of onions on best of 24,400MT now permitted.
